Reina 101: Reina is introduced in episode three of the Witchblade anime series ("Movement"). A doctor of forensic medicine, Reina is a first generation Neo-gene associated with the NSWF. Like her "sisters" she is equipped with device known as Cloneblade, which artificially mimics the properties of the Witchblade. Unlike her sisters, Reina was the driving force behind the development of the Cloneblades.

A calculated woman, Reina was once associated with Takayama during a joint research project. Six years ago she fled with the original Witchblade before being caught in the Great Quake. She re-establishes contact with Takayama after the weapon resurfaces on its new bearer, Amaha Masane. The DVD liner notes for the series describe her thusly:

Soho Reina - A beautiful woman with the NSWF, who excels at both physical and intellectual endeavors. A forensic medicine specialist, she got the research on Cloneblades up and running with Takayama, but she fled with the original Witchblade in her possession. She is Rihoko's biological mother.

Although only featured primarily between episodes four and fifteen, Reina is a key player in the events that unfold over the course of the Witchblade anime series.
