music

There were two original soundtracks released for the Witchblade anime series, "Sexual Panic" (1st) and "Dazzling War" (2nd). Both CDs contained music composed by Masanori Takumi, who is probably best known for music composition on series like Claymore and Genshiken. There is an intentional blend of overtly sexual/action music and peaceful melodies, highlighting the juxtaposition between Masane's two lives.

As Reina only really appears in the first half of the series, so too are all her relevant tracks available on the first soundtrack ("Sexual Panic"). I've uploaded the tracks that were either composed specifically with Reina in mind, or were played during her key anime scenes. I've also recently added the opening/ending themes that feature Reina.

Tracks are provided as samples — purchase the originals and delete these files within twenty-four hours. Direct-linking to these files is not appreciated (don't do it).

OSTOST

from the original soundtrack

track 02 "sexual panic" — This music plays repeatedly during Reina's battles.
Liner notes: "A fusion of womanly sultriness and intensity."

track 25 "lady" — This is Reina's official background theme, an elegant fusion.
Liner notes: "The song of a woman who might emasculate you if you fell for her. Someone who's beautiful but looks like she could seriously hurt you if you touched her."

track 30 "darkness" — This mellow track plays during Reina's death scene.
Liner notes: "A guitar version of 'Mother-Daughter Bond'. Thanks for playing it so wonderfully, Ohta!"

opening/ending themes

Psychic Lover - XTC — First OP theme to Witchblade.
Reina note: Cloneblade Reina features in the first opening sequence, slicing her blade downward on the line "... let me feel it one more time".

yamamoto asami - kutsuhimo — Second ED theme to Witchblade.
Reina note: Reina appears during this sequence, as a static image illustrated by Uno Makoto during the line "...I need to grow stronger".
